Louvre Abu Dhabi:

Children's Museum: Emotions! The New Art Adventure Exhibition (till May 2023)

Louvre Abu Dhabi’s Children’s Museum is playing host to a fascinating exhibition, where children will be privy to artwork and immersive experiences, letting them explore and identify emotions. This exhibition features 10 artworks and multiple interactive stations to familiarise children with identifying emotions- an essential milestone in a child’s development.

Louvre hosts 4 temporary exhibitions every year. These exhibitions are the result of a unique collaboration between Abu Dhabi and France. In partnership with 13 French Museum partners, Louvre Abu Dhabi will bring together exemplary art for visitors to the Middle East.

New Acquisitions and Loans

New works on loan include Haystacks, End of Summer by Claude Monet, Old Man in Front of Children's Tombs by Osman Hamdi Bey, and Caravans, Gypsy Camp near Arles by Vincent van Gogh. You can also see The Bellelli Family by Edgar Degas and Southern Landscape by Pierre Bonnard.


Qasar Al Watan: 

Escape from Abu Dhabi’s usual sights and find your way to the extraordinary Qasr Al Watan or the Palace of the Nation! A striking segment of the capital city’s Presidential Palace complex, Qasr Al Watan is where the significant government buildings are located. Besides the meeting place of the country’s supreme constitutional authority, it also serves as a venue to host the global leaders during their UAE visit. As it’s now opened to the public, come trace the footprints of royals while gaining a better understanding of the Emirati culture, heritage and architectural opulence. Experience one of the finest in the Royal Arabian architecture as you step inside the facility and find yourself under the country’s largest central dome. Watch videos displaying the intriguing facets of the palace architecture and further work your way across its diverse sections enriched by intricate, attention to detail artistry. Admire the massive chandeliers with over 300,000 crystal pieces, discover the Room of Gifts with the choicest items on display, check out the House of Knowledge, and marvel at the extravagance of the Presidential Banquet area, among others. There are many attractions that allow for immersive experiences; try producing fascinating calligraphy on interactive screens and spectacle an evening light and sound show which not only steps you back in time but also journeys you through present and into the future. Featuring a vast array of authentic publications on the region’s culture, history, archaeology, and constitution, Qasr Al Watan library deserves a special mention too. You’ll also get to explore the lush landscape surrounding the palace. Take a walk under the elegantly tranquil archways and get the best views of palace from its lawn.

Louvre Museum Abu Dhabi:

  • Download the free app on your Android or iOS device so you can fully explore the artwork and navigate the museum. Don't forget your headphones!
  • The galleries are set at a relatively cool temperature to protect the installations. You might want to consider carrying a stole/scarf, especially for kids.
  • Photography is permitted throughout Louvre. However, flash photography is not allowed in some areas with sensitive exhibits.
  • For security purposes, backpacks and luggage are not allowed inside. You can deposit your belongings in the cloakroom provided.
  • Food and water is strictly prohibited inside the galleries.
  • This experience is not suitable for wheelchair users.
  • Children aged 18 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Facilities: Free Parking, Paid valet parking, Free Wi-Fi, Strollers & wheelchairs on loan, Prayer room.

Qasar Al Watan: 

  • Please bring a valid Photo ID/passport with you as it is required to be displayed at the entrance.
  • Consumption of food and drink is not permitted in the great hall or exhibition rooms.
  • No heavy luggage is allowed during this visit.
  • Tickets can only be used for the selected date or the date will be printed on the ticket
  • The last entry to the Qasr Al Watan Palace is at 06:00 pm.
  • The last entry to the Light Show is at 07:00 pm.
  • The ticket includes access to the Palace in Motion (Light show). If it takes place on the date of your visit
  • The last entry to the Palace in Motion (Light show) is 45 minutes before the show time.
  • Light Show start at 08:00 pm. Timings may change and are subject to sunset timings
